Longer sentencing for cat/animal killers and those stealing for dog baiting
The basic 1st year cat costs an average £1000. After, it's £900 on bare basics. Extra cost to insure/pet plan.Vet costs far more than human ones&most cat homes have more than one cat. Upkeep costs make it apparent how angry owners when their cat gets murdered. 4 types of cat crimes found in my area
A cat murderer,2-3 times a year, over 500 cat deaths in the South East, trespassing on their property, sometimes on more than one occasion.Pellet shootings,in which a cat died in 2019. Another spate of cat dissections.Groups of people scouring streets for cats for dog baiting. Better sentencing is needed.Example;guilty of one cat death=maximum 5 years, someone done over 500 deaths, still a maximum of 5 years?Sentencing needs to go on how many cat deaths:Example 1 cat=2 years 5 cats=10 years&so on

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can't accept your petition because we aren't sure what action you would like the UK Government or Parliament to take. Taking other offences into account when sentencing is a matter for the courts rather than the UK Government or Parliament.
You might like to sign this petition instead, which calls for Parliament to pass a law allowing longer maximum sentences for animal cruelty and would include the types of offence you are concerned about:
