Student Loan should be disregarded in Universal credit calculation.
Student finance is a repayable loan and I believe it should be disregarded when calculating univeral credit entitlement. Surely any grants we recieve should be classed as income as these are non-repayable.
Currently I am left with limited help through universal credit. My husband is only able to work part time due to being the main carer for our 3 children. Not only do we have a reduction in benefit (due to my student loan) but feel I have been penalised for going in higher education. Please help me get this debated in parliament because as parents/students/families, we are being shortchanged by the introduction of Universal Credit, a system which was originally set up to make people 'better off'.
Thank you
