Making illegal for schools to make rules conflicting non-european hair types.

Petition Details

I'm hearing stories on children getting sent home, (mainly - & sadly Afro-caribbean - not excluding African heritage.)

All because their hair is either too long, too short or of a different hairstyle that is practical like braids or religious dreads locks. I feel this needs to STOP today.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Under the Equality Act, it is already illegal for schools to discriminate against anyone because of their protected characteristics, including race or ethnicity.
