The letters of comfort given to the murdering IRA should be revoked.
British soldiers who served on Northern Ireland are no being hounded by the Historical Incidents Unit. All these incidents were investigated at the time. There is now a growing consensus among the veterans that these letters should be revoked.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We're not sure what action you'd like the UK Government and Parliament to take.
In 2014, an independent review of the so-called "on-the-run" scheme (or comfort letters) made it very clear that the letters given to
“on the runs” did not constitute an amnesty or immunity from prosecution.
