Petition Action

Give the UK police more power to prosecute online groomers in another country

Petition Details

UK kids are being targeted on social media and groomed daily by peadophiles outside UK and they are walking free as our police don't have power to deal with someone outside uk who's abusing children over social media in uk I want the law changed allowing our police special Powers on cases like this.

Additional Information

Our police laws need to be changed to give the police special power in child cases of online grooming and to be able to action immediately on those responsible outside UK.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can't accept your petition because the UK Government cannot give the police powers to operate in other countries. This would need to be done by the Governments of those countries.

You could start a new petition calling for the UK Government to push for an international agreement to stop online grooming if that is something you would like to see happen.
