Expand existing carbon footprint labelling on products and make mandatory.
In the face of the current climate emergency and with renewed public interest in the climate crisis, It's time the government showed some leadership and took action.Expanding existing footprint labelling and making it mandatory is the minimum the government can do in the face of climate catastrophe.
With more info we can choose to be conscientious consumers. Labelling should feature prominently on all products in a way that is clear with easy to understand. Suggested format could be icons, bars, numbers, showing different parameters such as freight Co2, water usage, effect on deforestation; GHG emissions. Under no circumstances should this information be watered down to protect interests. We as consumers deserve the right to choose based on accurate information.
