Adopt a two-tier second referendum to clarify what type of exit the U.K. want
Following the results of the 2019 Euro elections, it’s clear that the U.K. is still torn on how we exit the EU. A 2nd vote won’t be welcomed universally, but will deliver clarity.
A 2-tier option would be:
Q1 - Leave/Remain
Q2 - If Leave, then a. No Deal, b. Mays Deal, or c. Customs Union Fix
A 2nd vote/confirmatory mandate, or whatever the public/parliament want to label it, is the best way forward to fix the mess we find ourselves in politically.
A general election won’t happen, because as the ruling party the tories won’t allow it, & democratically where there are still questions over the conduct of the leave campaign, seeking the electorate’s approval with 3 real-time options + analysis, is our best option.
Ballot papers would have to answer Q2 or would be considered spoilt.
