the ban on single use plastic drinking straws should be lifted because some disabled people rely on these to be able to survive. banning them means that some people may not be physically able to take a drink.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can't accept your petition because the Government's proposed ban on drinking straws has not yet come into force.

You might be interested to know that, in its proposals, the Government has said it will take steps to ensure that plastic straws are still available for people who need them for medical reasons.
