Track the number of a hoax emergency caller for prosecution or cover costs.
To allow emergency services to track the number of the hoax caller to arrest, prosecute and or have them cover the cost of the call out for wasting critical time and maybe be costing a member of public their life because of the hoax.
BBC and general problem that emergency services have with hoax caller, pressure, cost and putting peoples lives in danger who actually need help
