Petition Action

Remove Name, Gender, and race from all job applications for real equality.

Petition Details

In light of recent events, people are getting jobs based on gender, race, and sexuality.
I want to remove all of these from a job application to make it a level playing field and allowing the company to interview based on a CV or application.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. It is already against the law (the Equality Act 2010) for employers to discriminate against someone because of their race or gender. You can find out more here:

www.gov.uk/employer-preventing-discrimination/recruitment

As the guidance states, "You cannot choose a candidate who is not as suitable for the job just because they have a protected characteristic." We're therefore not sure what action you'd like the Government or Parliament to take.
