General election should be called whenever a Prime Minister resigns
As it stands Theresa May is about to stand down to make way for another candidate to govern the country. None of the candidates will be chosen by parliament nor the public but by the members of the Conservative party.
This is the second time that the governing party has had the PM resign in their current tenure after David Cameron resigned following the EU referendum.
It is simply not democratic nor fair that the British people do not get a choice on who will lead the country and a general election should be called whenever a PM decides to “call it a day”.
