Electrify the 'Harrogate Line' to increase capacity across the Northern Network!
Northern's new trains won't solve the capacity crisis, more trains are needed! Electrifying the 'Harrogate Line' that has a BCR of 3.61 would allow 4 car 350/2's to operate, increasing capacity by over 35%! In turn allowing the existing trains to be redeployed across the wider Northern network!
The train's that could be redeployed upon lines such as the Lakes Line, the line to Barrow and the Settle & Carlisle :
