Make the BBC an independent company. Turn TV license fees into a new NHS top up

Petition Details

Since it’s launch the BBC has been a public funded organisation paid for by the TV license. Since all other platforms are now commercial funded its time the bbc moved to this platform. This will allow the tv license fee to be used for a more important purpose, a top up fee for the NHS.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

Money raised from the TV licence fee goes to the BBC, not the Government. It is not clear how you propose that the Government raise the additional money for the NHS once the BBC is privatised.

You could start a new petition to ask the UK Government increase taxes to fund the NHS, if that’s what you’d like to happen.
