Demand that the Government make VE Day in 2020 an extra national holiday
The Government are proposing to move May Day Bank Holiday to Friday 8th May, instead of having an extra day to celebrate.
VE Day is a National Holiday already in France and some other European countries, whilst in the UK it is not.
It is celebrated in France as Victoire, in Slovakia as Victory Over Fascism Day and in Norway as Liberation Day.
