Keep May Day on 4th May in 2020 and give an extra bank holiday for VE Day
The Government have decided that instead of having our annual bank holiday on the first Monday of May we will now have it on VE Day next year, which is Friday 8th May. We had an extra bank holiday for Prince William’s wedding so why can’t the Government mark VE Day with an additional bank holiday?
Changing the dates like the Government have are going to affect people who have pre-booked holidays for the May Day bank holiday. Caravan sites weekend breaks are always advertised as Friday to Monday, as children will be expected to be in school on the Monday you would lose out on a day of your holiday.
