To open empty/disused shops/buildings for the homeless to sleep.
In every town in the country there are lots of empty or boarded up shops and buildings, there are also lots of homeless people who have nowhere to go.
Let's open these buildings to allow the homeless to sleep inside them rather than on the cold, wet unsafe streets.
Having worked in my local town centre and now when i visit it and see so many shops standing empty and homeless people trying to keep warm and dry in the doorways of these buildings why not open them on an evening and allow the homeless to go inside and sleep?
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can't accept your petition because this would the responsibility of your local council, not the UK Government or Parliament.
You could raise your issue with a local councillor, who represents you.
You can use this page to find out who your local councillors are, and how to contact them:
www.gov.uk/find-your-local-councillors
You could start a new petition calling for the Government to provide funding to local councils to tackle homelessness if that is something you would like to see happen.
