Government to be held accountable for environmental failures.
Environmental issues are a key topic throughout society. The government stated that as part of the solution they would increase tree coverage by 5000 hectares between March 2018 to 2019 but failed to do so, only achieving 29% of this. Government to answer why they have failed so spectacularly.
The government pledged to increase the tree coverage by 5000 hectares between March 2018 and 2019 but only planted 1420 worth. This fell 71% short of their promised amount, this was recently exposed in a Guardian newspaper article. In the non government world such failings would result in severe disciplinary action and the government should be held equally accountable for catastrophic failings, these failing effects all our health, which the government is meant to safeguard.
