Create a fairer system of TV licensing that treats old and young on equal terms

Petition Details

The current license fee system is unfair and outdated. It discriminates against old and young, it fails to reflect an individual's financial capacity to pay the license fee, and is payable whether BBC services are accessed or not. TV licensing rules need updating to reflect this.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you'd like changes to the TV licencing system, but we're not sure exactly what changes you'd like.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
