Petition Action

larger fines for motoring offences

Additional Information

To indtoduce or to replace a serious of offence with larger on the spot fines.
many offences should be dealt with by larger on the spot fines starting from £500 per offence plus increased points
example where this could be implemented, on a mobile telephone, not wearing a seatbelt, having your field of vision obsucred with badly placed sat nave, failure to indicate sufficiently at road junctions.
these offences could either be witnessed by a police officer or captured of CCTV
this would free up court times, act as a detterent and make offenders pay for their acts.
