Petition Action

MPs elected on a party manifesto should be subject to deselection if requested.

Petition Details

There have been numerous times where MPs have been elected campaigning with the support of a national party manifesto and not as independents. These MPs switched allegiances and no longer represent the values their constituents voted for. If requested, a by-election should be granted.

Additional Information

Chuka Umanna to name but one. Labour to Independent to Liberal Democrat in a few months.
