Default to by-elections if MP changes allegiance to another political party,
Recently there has been a number of examples where MPs who have been elected to a party by the electorate and then changed allegiance without reference to the electorate in that constituency. This is unfair to the electorate.
One MP who stood on a Labour manifesto left to become an independent party and then changed allegiance again to become an SDP member. This is unfair on the electorate as they believe they were voting for a Labour MP.
