Allow the police to trace calls on stolen phones
Under current legislation, the police do not have the power to trace a phone call from a stolen phone even if a crime is being committed eg a stolen car.
They can only act in the event of a "serious crime" - we found out to our cost that a stolen car is not classed as serious.
This calls for the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2002 to be revised so that the police can trace calls on stolen mobile phones in the event of ANY crime being committed
