Vet the next Prime Minister before he is appointed.
Concern has been expressed recently as to Mr Johnson's fitness for public office. Questions have been raised in the past concerning Mr Hunt and the News Corp affair in 2011. An Independent Adviser to the PM should vet a prospective PM where there is any public doubt about a nominee’s propriety.
The next PM must be someone:
i) who is in good standing in the community in general […];
ii) whose past conduct would not reasonably be regarded as creating a potential risk to the security of the UK;
iii) whose past conduct would not (had he or she been in public office at the relevant time) have constituted a material breach of the Seven Principles; and
iv) of whom there is a reasonable expectation that he or she will comply in full with the Ministerial Code and the Seven Principles.
