Break the Brexit impasse with eliminating votes by MPs on the principal options
The votes on Brexit by MPs suggest that no option commands a majority. However, if:
- MPs vote for their preferred option
- The option with the lowest number of votes is eliminated
- The process is repeated until there is one option
it would be a fair and transparent solution to the impasse
This process would:
- Vote options off the table
- Provide a clear direction and mandate
- Be justifiable to those who supported eliminated options
All principal options should be available, including but not limited to:
- Exit with no deal
- Withdrawal agreement, outside customs union, outside single market
- Withdrawal agreement, inside customs union, outside single market
- Withdrawal agreement, inside customs union, inside single market
- Repeat Leave/Remain referendum
- Cancel Brexit
