This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

Red squirrels and bats are already protected species under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. We're not sure exactly what else you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. You can find the list of protected species here: www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1981/69/schedule/5

You could start a new petition asking for hedgehogs and other species not already protected by this law to be added, if this is something you would like to happen.
