Give Mental Health it’s own Department & Cabinet Position within Government.
Too many people I’ve known have taken their own lives due to lack of support available with regards to mental health. Changes are happening but not fast enough, I believe creating a new department for mental health & wellbeing with a cabinet position could be the answer to faster reform & changes
Approximately 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health problem each year
In England, 1 in 6 people report experiencing a common mental health problem (such as anxiety and depression) in any given week
It appears that how people cope with mental health problems is getting worse as the number of people who self-harm or have suicidal thoughts is increasing
