Increase government funding for mens mental health and Provide more facilities.
More than 80 males on average die from suicide each week in the uk. Crisis teams, outreach, rapid response psychiatrists, all of these have weeks of waiting lists.
A man in crisis that's been referred by a GP waits 4 weeks to be helped. We don't have enough resources and there are hardly any men’s refuge centres.
There is a stigma behind mens mental health. A recent facebook group was created called Men Unite. A closed private group for men who need to speak about depression, addiction, alcoholism, victims of abuse and domestic violence, debts, bereavement. Within 5 weeks there is 9,000 male members from 64 countries. This is not by chance or luck. It is because it I exactly what the problem is. many men, suffering in silence. No resources to help, lack of support. Awareness and funding needs to increase
