Permits required for parent/child parking spaces, or risk fine.
Proposal of badge system for parent/child spaces (p/c).
P/c are often abused by those without children, those with, have to park elsewhere and put the safety of the child at risk.
Badges issued when baby born, expiring in 5yrs? would be required to be displayed when parked, or risk a fine.
Since becoming a parent I have become acutely aware of just how often these spaces are misused, especially in bad weather, as they tend to be closer to the door.
Many people would never wrongly park in a disabled spot (& rightly so), but its surprising how many don't have the same respect for p/c.
This is wrong.
My concern isn't how far from the door normal spaces may be, but the the lack of safe space to load/unload a child, buggy and shopping, without being in the path of moving cars.
I feel this issue needs to be taken more seriously, and until there is a real risk of consequence, I dont feel it will.
