Petition Action

Stop housing development in Cornwall until infrastructure can cope

Petition Details

Our housing development is one of the fastest growing in the UK.
Whilst we appreciate the need for some additional housing, we ask that all further developments are stopped with immediate effect until the infrastructure is built and staffed sufficiently to cope.

Additional Information

Treliske hospital is on Black alert most of the time with queues of ambulances waiting to drop people off, we need more Dr's and nurses to staff the MIU units across Cornwall 24hrs and relieve pressure from Treliske. Perminantly.
Doctors surgeries are constantly FULL.
Dentists have 2 year waiting lists.
Schools are underfunded and struggling to cope
CAMHS have a 2 year wait, education support is failing, adult services are not coping and our road systems are falling apart.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. Local planning issues are the responsibility of your local council.

You could raise your issue with a local councillor who represents you. You can use this page to find out who your local councillors are, and how to contact them:

www.gov.uk/find-your-local-councillors

You could start a new petition calling for a clear action that is the responsibility of the Government or Parliament, for example calling for more money for NHS services in the South West.
