Petition Details

Our planet has a climate emergency. The 2018 report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change states the need for radical CO2 emission reductions over the next 11 years. The UK Parliament has declared a climate emergency. The licensing of future fossil fuel extraction cannot be justified.

The 2018 IPCC report states that we must make drastic 45% cuts in global CO2 emissions within 11 years if we are to avoid temperature increase above the critical 1.5 degree level: https://www.ipcc.ch/sr15/
