Stop charging for replacement passports if it was stolen
I was robbed recently and as a result had many of my personal belongings replaced for a lot more than I have paid for them out of my own money. I was expecting the government to be able to replace my passport for free as it was stolen. I was told it is not possible to do
The police officer informed me that the HM passport office may send one for free. I am now being charged for being a victim of a crime while the perpetrators will never come to justice. We should not have to pay if we have evidence that wrongdoing was committed against us resulting in the loss of a passport.
