Hold a general election to "establish a mandate from the British people"
Today the Conservative Party announced their new leader who has become Prime Minister without a general election. Yet Boris Johnson previously condemned such acts as arrogant, contempt for democracy and a gigantic fraud. To honour his own words, he now needs " a mandate from the British people".
On his first day as PM, Boris Johnson rules out an election till 2022.
Yet in 2007 he publicly condemned Gordon Brown as being in Office “without a mandate from the British people.” This article from the New Statesman further quotes Boris Johnson on his appointment as PM without general election.
