Reclassify animals in law as 'living property' instead of 'property'
Prosecution services like the Crown Prosecution Service and the RSCPA often have their cases pushed to the side and as a result animals are often forgotten putting unnecessary on animals and owners while cases are sorted. More often that not, animals are separated from owners during this time.
A dog as been in police care for 11 months at the start of this petition in a simple case in which should already have been completed, however due to police and CPS failings, the case has yet to be resolved. This had resulted in undue stress to the owner and a I am sure, the dog too.
By subdividing property with 'living property', cases involving animals/plants can be pushed through quicker and resolved quickly.
By subdividing, greater punishments can also be applied to relevant cases.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.
You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
