Make supermarkets responsible for providing paper or ecological bags
Large supermarkets are not taking responsibility for providing ecological bags. As consumers we can bring our own bags yet they do not even provide paper bags for loose groceries instore. Why after the government 5p charge on plastic are the supermarkets not providing a paper bag alternative?
Some online groceries are delivered in paper bags, yet these are not provided in-store. All stores including express and metro stores, should provide paper bags at the till. Ecological bags which are biodegradable could also be provided. The stores should be fined for not taking responsibility of the problem they are creating.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
This would be a decision for supermarkets and not the UK Government or Parliament.
