Subject e-cigarettes to the same advertising laws as regular cigarettes

Petition Details

Currently every bus stop, tube carriage and magazine is plastered with advertisements for companies such as Juul and others advertising e-cigarettes as a fashionable accessory. In reality it is just another tool for the tobacco industry to hook a new generation onto an ultimately addictive habit.

Additional Information

Currently the concensus on how much damage e-cigarettes do is still out as they have not been around long enough. Do we really want to wait until they might be found to be causing mouth or other cancers before we act? These products should be subject to the same advertising laws as tobacco and we should be trying to phase smoking out not encouraging the hobby with a thin disguise.

If there has ever been a case for an entry level drug e-cigarettes must fulfil the criteria for promoting smoking.
