Request GPs to prescribe ivermectin on the basis of travel history & symptoms.
British residents only have access to mebendazole, which is inadequate for strongyloides & hookworm (which can be fatal). According to experts, medicine should be prescribed on the basis of travel history & symptoms, but British doctors are refusing to give medicine without a clinical test result.
Strongyloides stercoralis can be fatal to the non-immunosuppressed (https://jcp.bmj.com/content/jclinpath/39/4/366.full.pdf). The standard UK stool test does not reveal strongyloides. The Kato Katz test (not 100% reliable)is unavailable. Dr Paul Pottinger (University of Washington US) says the serology test is unreliable (YouTube- ‘strongyloides stercoralis’ RWJF microbiology, immunology & infectious diseases) & that the time it takes to get tests done can prove to be fatal in chronic cases.

We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. Prescription is a clinical decision for GPs and other medical professionals.
