Reduce school summer break and make terms shorter
Juggling childcare with work commitments, trying to keep young children entertained, the extra costs and many miss the structure and routine of school. Come September, trying to get back into the routine can be hard for some children and it can takes weeks for them to settle.
Many families struggle with the financial implications of such a long break. Childcare costs, days out and extra food can be more than many can manage. I propose shorter terms with the summer break being reduced for the benefit of both the children and their families.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The UK Government doesn't set school holiday dates. These are the responsibility of individual schools and local councils.
