Pressurize the Indian govt to stop the illegal unilateral annexation of Kashmir
India has taken unilateral measures to annex the disputed territory of Kashmir.
A population of 7 million Kashmiris have been placed in an unprecedented blockade.
Landlines, mobile phones, TV, internet and all types of communication have been blocked.
Kashmiris are being deprived of their basic human rights and the right to freedom of information.
We, the British parliament and public, have a moral obligation to intervene as the conflict is arguably a result of the British rule and subsequent departure from the Indian subcontinent.
The UK parliament needs to put pressure on the Indian government to uphold the basic human rights of Kashmiris and stop the unilateral illegal annexation of a UN recognized disputed territory.
