Veto banning Violent Video games in the UK,they don't cause people to be violent

Petition Details

Recent tragic events have once again drawn a parallel between our fictional escapist games and reality, which has repeatedly been show that no relation between the two.

Additional Information

In view of the current events in the US and their presidents vow to "crack down" on violence in games, and given the relationship with our newly appointed PM, I would like to make sure that there are no resolutions made to censor or ban any games in the UK's computer game market in an attempt to quell a problem which does not exist there.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for banning specific games. That's the responsibility of the Video Standards Council, which is responsible in the UK for implementing the PEGI age rating system which is used in over 30 countries throughout Europe.
