A 3rd Runway - Expand London Heathrow Airport
London Heathrow Airport is the UK’s only hub airport and a valuable asset to the economy. It is working beyond capacity at 80 million passengers per year. An expansion would deliver more jobs, an estimated £187 billion economic gain by 2050 and more airline choice & competitiveness.
London Heathrow is a global hub airport, the UK’s only hub airport, working close to 100% capacity at 80 million passengers per year. It shall be unable to cope without a much needed expansion. Estimates show it shall deliver up to £187 billion in economic benefits by 2050. A 3rd Runway can double Heathrow’s cargo capacity, connect business in the UK to the rest of the world and benefit tourism. More flights from LHR to the rest of the UK will bring economic gain to every region of the country.
