Ban machetes.
The population feels terrorised by seemingly out of control knife crime. Machetes are the scariest knives of all, and are only really needed by explorers in the Amazon jungle. There are NO circumstances where they are needed in urban environments in the UK.
If a number of similar knife attacks happen on the same day, it's always the one featuring the machete that gets mentioned.
