Opportunity to oppose e-petitions
Reading through the list of e-petitions, there are some very curious and in some cases almost frightening suggestions.
I propose that as well as being able to sign a pro-vote in support of an e-petition, there should be an option to sign an anti-vote in opposition to it.
The relative numbers of pro-votes and anti-votes would give a much better indication of the overall opinion of the population than just counting pro-votes, and any petition with more anti-votes than pro-votes could be automatically held to be rejected.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.
You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
