'Indefinite Leave to Remain' for all Migrants resident in the UK for ten years.

Petition Details

Migrants are net contributors to UK PLC and they often do the least appealing jobs. Many suffer financially and mentally by having to save a big chunk of the family income to pay for Visa renewal fees. Those who have been here for ten years have earned the right to remain indefinitely in the UK.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

You can already apply for indefinite leave to remain after being in the UK legally for 10 years. You can find out more here:

www.gov.uk/settle-in-the-uk/y/you-ve-been-in-the-uk-legally-for-10-years-long-residence

We aren't sure what further action you'd like the UK Government or Parliament to take.

You could start a new petition asking the Government to grant indefinite leave to remain automatically after 10 years in the UK, if that's something you'd like to see happen.
