Provide assistance to owners of Listed Properties to aid running & repair costs
In recent years, the cost of maintaining Listed Properties has dramatically increased due to Council Tax rates, repair costs and energy prices.
Owners of Listed Properties are only custodians and if these houses are to be preserved for the next generation, they need to be adequately maintained.
We would like:
• A reduction in council tax for listed properties
• A reduced or zero tax rate for building material and/or labour for works done to Listed Properties
• An incentive scheme to help pay for energy efficient measures on listed properties – e.g. secondary glazing or insulation
• Relaxation of planning laws surrounding Listed Property energy efficiency measures
• A price cap on wood pellets for heating (unlike gas, retailers are not regulated). Additional controls/regulation by Ofgem
