Assign 10% of the National Curriculum to teaching life skills to children
School of Life UK want every child in the UK to be taught life skills as part of the national curriculum. Teaching children cognitive, emotional, interpersonal, social and practical life skills enable individuals to deal effectively with the challenges of everyday life as they grow into adulthood.
The world health organisation evidences that preschool enrichment & social development programs, targeting children early in life, can prevent aggression, improve social skills, boost educational achievement & improve job prospects. The benefits of high-quality Life Skills programs can be sustained into adulthood.
We ask the government to make it a statutory part of the national curriculum, allocating 10% of compulsory instruction time, ensuring the next generation are equipped for life.
