Compel MPs who change party during a parliament to fight a bye election.
It is important that those elected to serve in our parliament do so with the mandate of the people they are elected to serve and that mandate cannot apply if the MP then chooses to ditch the party and the manifesto upon which they were elected to office.
In recent months a number of MPs i.e. Sarah Wollaston, Anna Soubry, Heidi Allen etc. have chosen to leave the party that they were members of when they stood for election and it is fair to say that had they shown their true colours at the time of selection they would not have been successful.
