Offer Low-interest grants for solar panels.
There are 1.8 million commercial buildings and 25 million homes in the UK. We have set targets to help reduce our Carbon Emissions but are expected to fall short of these targets by 210 billion kg of Carbon Dioxide per year.
If each of the buildings mentioned above were to receive loans to fully pay for 28m2 of solar panels then each building will reduce their carbon emissions by 39.1 billion kg a year. The initial costs for the Government to allow a full purchase of the solar panels used in this example would be around £187.6 billion. If the interest of these loans was 1% then, per year:
Carbon Dioxide per year- 39.1 billion kg less
Money gained overall- £5.89 billion (Interest and fossil fuel costs)
