Dignity Code
We support the introduction of a Dignity Code, as promoted by the National Pensioners Convention that will uphold the rights and maintain the personal dignity of older people, within the context of ensuring the health, safety and well being of those who are increasingly less able to care for themselves or to properly conduct their affairs. The Dignity Code should be applied in all health and care settings, and would outline unacceptable behaviour and actions, as well as promoting good practice amongst health and care professionals so that older people were treated with dignity and respect at all times.
