Benefit not more than minimum wage

Additional Information

Is it possible for the government to cap benefit handouts (Housing, Maintenance, etc.) equivalent to national minimum wage for the unemployed?
This can be increased to say 80% of the last salary for those who have been made redundant for at least one year and reverting back to national minimum wage.
