Investigate fake signatures on do not prorogue petition and verification process
Social media Trends promoting multiple signatures on do not prorogue petition this is also an issue based on technical and technology poor management and process in protecting the digital persona and enabling the gamification of petitions leading to fake numbers and fake media coverage
I have tested the issue myself and publicly presented my findings https://techannouncer.com/fake-signatures-generating-fake-news-for-petition-do-not-prorogue-parliament/ also ween on social media the encouragement of individuals promoting the fake signature process. This therefore is a risk to public debate and democracy with individual rights.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We already monitor petitions to check for fraudulent activity. We use a number of techniques, automated and manual, to identify and block signatures from bots, disposable email addresses or other sources that show signs of fraudulent activity. We also monitor signing patterns. For security reasons, we don’t tell people when their fraudulent activity has been unsuccessful.
We don’t comment in detail about the security measures, but all petitions are subject to checks as part of due diligence and any concerns investigated. We're therefore not sure exactly what further action you'd like to see.
